I'm a writer. :) Now, this is a very loose term that may also mean: "I am insane!"
I don't write fan fiction nearly as much as I did a few years ago, but every once and a while something from my days of *N Sync worship or Queer Eye for the Straight Guy lust will pop up--but not very often. Most of these oldies but goodies can be found over at my previous writing journal,
Most of the time, nowadays, I am consumed with one of three books-in-progress: "One Day," "Heartbreak Hotel," or "A Day in the Life of Forever." Every little while I post drabbles, short stories or tidbits revolving around these tales... or if any particular character is talking to me at any given time, and I wish to take advantage of such a thing. Which is a good idea, trust me. :) "One Day" and "Heartbreak Hotel" are being co-written with my girlfriend and fellow author,
"One Day" shares the lives of three generations of people, ranging from 1939 through the present (that's 70 years worth of story!). Romances blossom and romances crumble, friendships are formed and hearts are broken. Sometimes there's success and other times, there's failure. It's essentially a coming of age tale with a bit of a taboo foundation. Though it focuses primarily on generation two (50's - 80's), generation one and generation three also get lots of screen time, as well. Currently, my co-author and I are still in the developing stages of "One Day" and have been for the last two to three years. It's not on paper yet and won't be for quite some time... we have both agreed, we don't know each other well enough yet, "One Day" and she and I.
"Heartbreak Hotel" is a parallel of "One Day." They're not the same at all, but they share the same characters. But one has to keep in mind, though we do reuse the same people from "One Day," by changing their pasts, they aren't really the same after all. "Heartbreak Hotel" is a psychological thriller that was accidentally born during the summer of 2008. It follows the lives of a young boy who is battling DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) and a brother who will go to any length to help him cope and survive. For NaNoWriMo 2008, my co-author and I divvied up "Heartbreak Hotel" and, combining her 50,000 with my own, surpassed 100,000 words worth of book. We haven't touched it since, but plan on doing the same thing for NaNoWriMo 2009.
"A Day in the Life of Forever" is my own book... a book I've been trying to write for five years. It's gone through many character changes, plot changes, name changes and all sorts of other changes. In fact, it was only two or three months back that I was finally able to come up with a concrete beginning and have been, ever since, focusing on the middle and the end. It tells the tale of two lovers, Richard Ellis and Topher Jame, as they juggle their relationship, Rick's self-destructive behavior and the untimely death of their dear friend, Alexandria Rose. Upon completion, I want to dedicate it to a friend of mine who passed away in 2006 and my mother's mom who passed away in 2002. May they rest in peace.
So, yeah. :) Please, feel free to read and relate. That's why my co-author and I do what we do, after all.
